Assessment:

American Companion Care offers a free, in-home assessment. In your initial assessment, we will determine if the client's needs are compatible with the capacity to deliver non-medical companion services in the home. It is understandable that some daily activities are not as easy as they used to be. American Companion Care wants you to have options. American Companion Care understands you or your loved one may need one-on-one assistance while maintaining as much independence as possible. Your unique situation and personal needs will be assessed and a cost-effective careplan can be developed with you and any family members you wish to have involved if you need it.

The 24-hour live-in and hourly Companions and Caregivers make living in the comfort of your own home possible by:

• Arranging appointments, reminders and transportation
• Assisting with walking around your home
• Answering your door, and if needed helping to entertain your guests, supervising home maintenance workers or taking care of deliveries.
• Companionship and stimulating conversation
• Escorting you while going out for dinner, appointments, and meetings; attending religious services, a play or concert, or just a fun afternoon at the park
• Exercise and walking monitoring
• Friendly interaction playing games, helping with hobbies, renting and playing movies
• Helping with evening routine and bedtime preparation
• Helping with morning routine, personal care, and assistance with clothing selections
• Light housekeeping
• Mail organization including writing letters, sorting bills, applying postage and making sure letters and packages get in the mailbox or post office.
• Nutritional monitoring, including keeping a check on food expirations
• Meal preparation
• Medication reminders
• Personal and household laundry
• Pet care
• Respite care
• Shopping (even clipping those coupons)
• Toileting
• Transfers as needed
• Traveling companionship including helping to transport you to and from the airport, arranging your ticket reservations, and/or arranging for luggage transport.
